Some tips for women techies to grow a career with the metaverse
The metaverse is shaking up how women techies run businesses, play games, make money, and are available together as communities. It’s an emerging region of women in technology that may take some time to wrap your head around – what with all of the new terms and ideas to get a hold of. We’re talking blockchain, NFTs, crypto, DAOs, digital burritos – wait, what? Yes, Chipotle made digital burritos a thing on Roblox. That happened. Other tech companies too like NVIDIA are making bold statements approximately the parallel virtual universe for women in the metaverse. Long story short- women’s career in the metaverse is the internet’s next large thing. What artificial intelligence (AI) was from the late-90s until the remaining decade, Metaverse is for now for women’s future.
Developers, engineers, and innovators throughout the globe are working towards figuring out the proper means and skill units to make it large in what Mark Zuckerberg calls the ‘New North Star.’ While Metaverse continues to be in its nascent stage, this intersection of AI, VR, gaming, blockchain, 5G, and augmented reality (AR) promises possibilities to assist women techies to locate the land in their dreams for women’s careers in the metaverse.
What is the Metaverse?
A studies paper in 2013 defined it as ‘an integrated network of 3-D digital worlds’. ‘Virtual world’… hmm, sort of sounds like a video game, right? NFT – A ‘non-fungible token’ is a virtual asset (think: artwork, GIF, meme) that may be bought with cryptocurrency. When women techies have their very own NFT, you have digital rights to the unique copy of it.
